Bridal Affaire draws crowds to Gallatin Mall


It was matrimonial merriment, only in miniature.

ERIK PETERSEN/CHRONICLE A fashion-show model displays a tuxedo with flair to the crowd attending the Bridal Affaire at the Gallatin Valley Mall Saturday afternoon. Caterers doled out tiny cupcakes and small sample portions of roast beef to brides- and grooms-to-be in an empty storefront decorated for a wedding reception at the Gallatin Valley Mall Saturday.A life-size Irish band played soothing tunes from one corner of the small pseudo-reception hall. The runway for a bridal fashion show was set up in the back half of the room.Debbie Flikkema and Leanne Moss, of Churchill, came to the Bridal Affaire 2008 "to get ideas" for their daughters, both of whom are getting married soon and live in other states.Many others were there for similar reasons, and they strolled through the mall in search of ideas for cakes, flowers, food, decorating, gowns and tuxedos.
